According to witnesses, volunteers and members of the Coast Guard managed to see the reptile and thus safeguard visitors in time.

The Costa Rican Fire Department has reported that the sighting of crocodiles and alligators increased by 27% in the last two years in the Pacific sector of our country.

According to Franchesco Di Palma, from the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) it is usual for these animals to be seen in the area during these periods since they are males that were not accepted by the females and move through sectors that are not their habitats.

The authorities recommend a lot of caution since this phenomenon usually happens this season on the beaches in the area.
