The Director of Public Force Daniel Calderón denied the information related to the presence of Nicaraguan paramilitaries in Costa Rica.
This week, a viral message sent mainly via WhatsApp warns the population about the alleged arrival of Nicaraguan military due to the migration crisis in the neighboring country.
We do not have any information to support this. They are false news that tend to cause alarm in the population,”
said Calderón.
The police chief explained that there have been operations and intelligence actions to detect suspicious movements, but to date, everything has been denied. Calderón said that work continues to be done in the face of the migratory wave to guarantee the country’s security.
