Transferring the telecommunication towers located in an area at risk, in Irazú volcano, is of public and national interest, thanks to a declaration made by the Executive Branch.
Edwin Estrada, Deputy Minister of Telecommunications, had previously explained that with this statement, they wanted to accelerate the necessary procedures and that should be done in public institutions.
The government made the decision to accelerate the process after a report by the National Emergency Commission (CNE), which warns that cracks located on the ground where the towers are measuring 4 meters.
There are about 75 telecommunications towers that are in danger, since more than 90% of these equipment are in risk areas.
