The Emergency Plan must be ready on January 30th. It will explain the work to be carried out in the areas affected by Hurricane Otto. The National Emergency Commission is working on it to have it ready.
According to Ivan Brenes, President of the CNE, there is no problem with the deadline. However, some institutions requested more time to complete their reports.
These institutions are Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA), the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) in the pluvial intervention area.
According to the Commission, 6 billion colones have been invested to solve the hurricane emergency: Otto hit the country in November, mainly in the cantons of Upala, Bagaces, La Cruz, Las Barras and the South Zone.
Brenes explained that without the plan, it is unknown how much money will be needed for the reconstruction.
