The Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewage Systems (AyA), will temporarily administrate the Aqueduct of Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui, to benefit the public health of its residents.
This action intends to implement the Integrated Aqueduct Project of Sarapiqui, which will supply drinking water to over 26,000 people. The project is funded by the Spanish Cooperation Fund for Water and Sanitation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This process will be led by AyA along with ASADA de Sarapiqui, which will manage and operate the aqueduct.
In addition, AyA has reached a financial agreement with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to implement several projects in the Northern Zone and Sarapiqui.
