The general manager of Bancrédito, Gerardo Porras, was fired on December 22nd, after the intervention by the National Council of Supervision of the Financial System (Conassif). This was announced by the workers’ union of the bank, who say that Porras himself was the one who broke the news last week.
Julio Baltodano, General Secretary of the union, had scheduled a meeting with Porras on Friday. However, said meeting was replaced by the meeting with the bank’s intervening authorities.
The bank must submit a final report in six months to help determine its future.
