To the rhythm of bolero, ballad and dance music, this month of Love and Friendship the different Bands of the Ministry of Culture and Youth (MCJ) will offer concerts in different places of the country.
The ensembles of San José, Cartago, Heredia and Limón will present to the public music from national and international composers.
Limón: On Wednesday, February 14th, at Casa de la Cultura, the people of Limón will be able to listen and dance to songs like “Bésame”, by Ricardo Montaner; “Cómo fue”, bolero by Ernesto Duarte Brito and “Si tú supieras”, by Alejandro Fernández. Alberto Portuguez will be in charge of the concert.
“The music is totally danceable. The band always opens the time and atmosphere for people to dance. Our goal is to open another cultural space in Limón and we take advantage of these dates to invite people to enjoy our performances,” said director Portuguez.
Cartago: People from Cartago will have two concerts. The first one is on February 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Amphitheater of Cartago, and the second will be held on February 18th, at 5:00 p.m. in Paseo Metropoli Shopping Center.
Attendees can listen to some romantic movie themes and other popular themes. The direction will be in charge of Ricardo Vargas.
San José: The inhabitants of this province will have the opportunity to celebrate this date on February 18th, at 10 a.m., at the Central Park kiosk, when the Band of this province will perform their repertoire, with pieces such as: “Como fue”, by Ernesto Duarte; “Piel Canela”, by Bobby Capó; “Imagine” by John Lennon and “Love Story” by Francis Lai. The band also indicated that they will play music by Costa Rican composers such as Otto Vargas, Víctor Hugo Berrocal, Ricardo Mora, among others.
Heredia: The Concert Band of Heredia has prepared a special concert entitled “Celebration of love and friendship.” The concert will be held on February 15th at 5:00 p.m. at Parque Central de Heredia.
