BCR appoints new interim managers

On Tuesday, the Board of Directors of the Bank of Costa Rica (BCR) appointed Douglas Soto as the new internal general manager, who until now has been the manager of the entity’s Insurance Brokerage Company. The appointment is effective as of February 26th.

In the position of assistant manager, the body appointed Álvaro Camacho, current manager of the Investment Fund Management Company, who will assume the position on March 5th.

In addition, Renán Murillo, current corporate credit manager, was appointed as interim retail banking manager.

These appointments are for a temporary period and will continue as long as the precautionary measures against Mario Barrenecha and Andrés Víquez are maintained, as well as the suspension without salary of Marvin Corrales.

The current interim manager, Eduardo Ramírez, will continue in the bank, but without the responsibilities of the general management.

The new findings compiled since November were added to the expanded investigative statements on thre BCR managers, lead the Attorney General’s Office to point more strongly to four names as the main suspects in the “cementazo” plot.
