Bertozzi: “they were well-behaved, quiet prisoners”

Pablo Bertozzi, director of the Prison Police, declared that the three prisoners who escaped from the Institutional Center are quiet and well-behaved.

Moreover, Bertozzi assured that the escape could have been much greater and that if other immates had wanted to flee, they could have done it without problems. This is because they work in a banana farm, to which they go and return without supervision.

He added that these three prisoners had never been involved in any problem, and now they will look for them to determine what motivated them to make this decision.

The three men were in prison for aggravated robbery and one of them for homicide, but Bertozzi said that they are quiet people and that’s why they were in the minimal-containment module.

In addition, he rejected that the jailbreak is related to an infrastructure issue or lack of attention from the Prison Police.
