San Jose Archbishop Jose Rafael Quiros, prayed yesterday at a 3pm Mass, at the Metropolitan Cathedral, asking that those who aspire to the Presidency stay away from temptations. The bishop prayed that the faithful seek God’s guidance and candidates avoid corruption in public office.
More specifically the Bishop prepared a “beatitudes of politicians”, which set rules for the next President of Costa Rica.
“Blessed is the politician who always work for the common good and not for their own sake; blessed is he who is the blessed and faithfully consistent politician who is not afraid of the media, because at the time of trial, shall report only God, “said Bishop.
Quiros also called for the next president to work for the benefit of the poor, stick with fundamental values that include the right to life for the unborn, and to respect the electoral process.
Archbishop Quiros was also very clear that on the question of the abortion ban, that Costa Rica not bow to international pressure or the political agenda.
