New York former Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced his candidacy for the Democratic Party on Sunday for the 2020 presidential election.
I am a presidential candidate to beat Donald Trump and rebuild the United States,”
said the 77-year-old billionaire on his website.
The announcement puts an end to speculation about Bloomberg’s intention to run for the Democratic Party.
We cannot endure President Trump’s reckless and unethical actions for four more years,”
said the former mayor of New York.
It represents an existential threat to our country and our values. If he wins the presidency again, we may never recover from the damage.”
With a personal fortune of $50 billion, Bloomberg joins a race in which there are already 17 candidates, with former Vice President Joe Biden leading the way, according to polls, followed by Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, and Pete Buttigieg in fourth place.
