Blossoming yellow trees

When summer comes we inevitably think of sand, sun and blue sea. However, this time has prepared some surprises that, although fleeting, marvel us with the perfection of nature.

This is the case of the road separating Ciudad Colón from the University for Peace in the Rodeo de Mora. In the short but winding route, dozens of Cortez Amarillo trees catch the attention of travelers, who even stop at the roadside with their cameras to immortalize that one perfect moment.

Immersed in coffee plantations, next to guapinoles, oaks, guanacastes and many other endemic trees, these trees immediately are distinguished by the intensity of their yellow colour cutting on a huge blue sky. Its flowers are like flakes of some exotic cotton and resemble the brushstrokes of a Creole Van Gogh, ecstatic with the colors of tropical summers.

The yellow cortez trees are in bloom in the area of El Rodeo in Ciudad Colón, just 30 minutes from La Sabana. Perhaps you can still catch its beauty, ephemeral as a sunset.
