A boat with at least ten tourists capsized in the area of Tortuga Island, according to Costa Rican coastguard officials.
Diego Brenes, Coast Guard officer, confirmed that a boat was sent to assess the situation. According to official information, the boat would have run out of fuel and hit a reef, but its occupants are out of danger and were helped by an individual.
Brenes explained that the occupants of the boat were helped by a private boat that was in the area. The injured boat is baptized as Sancarleña, while the one that provided help is called Cockatoo.
The alert came through 9-1-1.
