A video captured the moment when a jaguar named María was teaching her two young to fight for their lives in the Dry Forest of Guanacaste.
The post was shared on Facebook, on the Jaguar Program of the National University profile, to celebrate Mother’s Day.
According to the publication of the university program,
María is a female jaguar who was marked with a GPS collar a couple of years ago in Santa Rosa National Park. Thanks to this devices it has been possible to know their range of action, territory, habitat and habits; information hat was unknown to researchers until a few years ago.”
In addition, according to officials who follow the animal
it is a pleasure to always see her walking in its territory and even more, teaching future generations of jaguars to fight for their domains.”
