Osa Conservation Area
A camp brought together children from three Osa schools to teach them about forest fire prevention, mammal monitoring, bird watching, and the importance of wetlands. The so-called Junior Park Ranger program seeks to encourage love and a sense of environmental protection in children.
Through workshops, games and lectures, children were taught how to properly handle waste and were trained for basic emergency care, according to Catalina Mora, administrator of Isla del Caño Biological Reserve of the Osa Conservation Area.

said Andrew, one of the students at Rancho Quemado de Osa School.
The initiative was fostered by the Osa Conservation Area and was carried out to provide tools to the “next nature guardian leaders”.
The camp will have no cost for the participants since there is financing from the public-private sector. This is the first time that a camp of this nature has been organized, although they have worked on talks about conservation areas on previous years.
