The Costa Rica Coalition movement was formed to support Carlos Alvarado for the second round and question the option of National Restoration. Currently, there are around 270 thousand people that make up the group, asking the citizens to exercise a responsible vote.
On Sunday, with the presence of about 50 people in Moravia Park, the candidate of the Citizen Action Party (PAC) signed an agreement with this association, which includes programmatic proposals and also give official voice to this movement.
With the agreement, Alvarado is committed to legitimately recognize the Costa Rica Coalition as an organized movement. In addition, in the first 100 days of management, he must create a permanent negotiating table where the proposals presented by this citizen group will be presented and analyzed.
In recent weeks, Coalition received about 300 proposals from its members to start as a basis for what they presented to Carlos Alvarado.
Some of the main projects asked to the candidate were paying attention to the fight against gender violence. Only in the first three months of this year the country has seen 12 femicides.
Environmental sustainability is another issue they ask for on the agenda, with opposition to trawling. This week, the Constitutional Chamber brought down the agreement taken by the board of directors of the Costa Rican Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Incopesca), to issue more licenses. Alvarado has opposed the technique.
Another commitment was to improve the competitiveness and non-devaluation of the national currency. Alvarado, facing this second round, signed an agreement with members of the New Generation Party and another with Rodolfo Piza, which they take as a parameter of what they have called the Government of National Unity.
