The President-elect, Carlos Alvarado, will not travel with President Luis Guillermo Solís to the Summit of the Americas in Peru to be held on April 13th and 14th.
On Tuesday, the Costa Rican president said he invited Alvarado to participate in the event with the presidents of America; however, according to the President-elect, agenda issues will not allow it.
I appreciate his generosity. He wants to help us in this transition process, but we cannot participate,”
said Alvarado.
On April 13th, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal will deliver his credential as President of the Republic and he must be present at that event.
The presence of Luis Guillermo Solís in this summit will be confirmed in the coming days. At first, the president said he was not going to participate, but he has had to reconsider his decision.
