The Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) denied information about an alleged outbreak of viral meningitis in the Coronado area of San José.
Gina Ocampo, a doctor in the health area of Coronado, said that the information shared in social media is false, and that currently there are no reported cases of meningitis that may affect the population.
Doctor Ocampo asked the population not to be alarmed by this type of unofficial information, usually shared by users who do not consult with doctors to learn the truth.
