Celso Gamboa represents the Maduro regime in complaint against Venezuelan diplomat in Costa Rica

María Faria, ambassador appointed in Costa Rica by Juan Guaidó, president in charge of Venezuela, was reported to the Public Ministry of Costa Rica for the alleged usurpation of the Venezuelan diplomatic headquarters in the country.

This was confirmed by Celso Gamboa Sánchez, former magistrate and former prosecutor of the Republic, to Monumental News. Gamboa is the representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela before this country.

Gamboa assures”what the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela does, unlike other opposition groups, is going to the legal channels, appealing to the Costa Rican legal system to find protection in their legislation and enforce their rights in the criminal field.”

The criminal complaint includes a total of nine people for the alleged crime of usurpation.

According to Gamboa,

the take-over of tge embassy was violent. There is no day of the week in which the members of the diplomatic mission are not threatened by people who pass in vigil or in the official residence of the Embassy of Venezuela, issuing expletives and very serious threats. To the point that they were materialized by taking the consulate and attacking the physical integrity of the diplomatic members.”

On February 20th, Faria entered the diplomatic headquarters located in Los Yoses, San José, to take the building and withdraw any participation of the representatives of the Nicolás Maduro regime. However, the official named by Guaidó had to hand over the building the next day, due to severe clashes between diplomats from both sides.
