Chamber of Commerce pleased with project to regulate strikes

The Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce supports the measure of banning strikes in essential public services, which puts the general welfare of the community first, when some social groups exercise that right.

The commerce sector and the Costa Rican people suffered the consequences of the regulatory insufficiency in this matter last year, when the strike described by the unions as political took place,” said Alonso Elizondo, Executive Director of the Chamber.

The entity believes that the project introduces changes necessary to avoid abuses in the exercise of this right and creates security and legal certainty for all parties that make up labor relations.
