Children and adults die in Venezuelan hospitals because of the blackout

The blackout that affects more than 70% of the Venezuelan population since Thursday caused the death of children and adults in medical centers, which were unable to provide services due to a lack of power supply.

The regime of Nicolás Maduro claims the electrical crisis is the result of sabotage by the United States. Despite this, for the time being it was not possible to establish the specific reason for the situation.

The comments of thousands of inhabitants of the Bolivarian nation in social networks express tragedy, pain, and more uncertainty in the midst of an already-disastrous situation.

The National Survey of Hospitals, carried out by the Physicians for Health organization, indicated that from November 2018 until the first week of February 2019, more than 79 lives have been lost in hospital sites as a consequence of the many blackouts that occur in different parts of the Venezuelan territory.

Regarding the most recent blackout, it was reported as a malfunction in the state of Bolívar, through which 70% of the country is supplied with electricity.
