On Sunday morning, dozens of people gathered in Plaza de la Democracia, San José, to protest against the strike of public employees that -in the last 20 days- has affected the provision of public services and caused millions of losses to the national economy.
Dressed in white and with banners that repudiate the strike, the citizens who joined the call demand that the strike be stopped and that medical services and lessons in schools and colleges go back to normal.
The activity was called by the Movimiento Ciudadano CR group. Manfred Marshall, spokesman for the movement, said that the activity was not moved by any political group, but by the citizens.
Regarding the fiscal crisis, the group said it supports the approval of the tax plan, but demands that substantial changes be made that make the State and the use of public resources more efficient,
Participant Jenny Zúñiga demanded that the unions work and assured that she has no privileges to defend, but she does defends the country.
20 days negotiating! And that includes diets, breakfasts, lunches, dinners. And the poor? With the streets blocked,”
