The constant activity from Turrialba Volcano causes the National Commission for the Prevention of Risks and Emergency Care (CNE) and the Technical Advisory Committee on Volcanology (CAT) to urge the population to be cautious and respect the instructions and limitations to access the colossus.
Therefore, the authorities remind that access to the volcano is limited to 2 kilometers before the crater. They also indicated that this limit will extend to 5 kilometers when necessary.
Currently, this volcano has an almost permanent output of gases, as well as frequent explosions and variable energy, with output of ash and incandescent blocks that make the area unsafe for visitors and tourists.
The constant eruptions make it attractive for many people, hence the call to take preventive measures and avoid any emergency.
