Colds and infections attack kids

Colds and infections are invading Costa Rica and their victims are the little ones. Nasal congestion, coughs, phlegm, tightness in chest, fever and body pain are some of the symptoms observed.

An average of 70 to 80 children are being sent to the National Children’s Hospital because their symptoms are increasingly aggressive.

Minister of Health, Fernando Llorca, admitted there is a huge concern because these health problems have been decreasing in the adult population, but increasing among children. He also conceded this situation surpasses the hospital’s capacity, which is why they are planning to improve its facilities.
