On Tuesday afternoon, the Ministry of Finance announced from the Governing Council that the collection of corporation tax will start on July 1st.
The law, which was approved by the Legislative Assembly, has already been signed but it still needs to be issued in the official newspaper La Gaceta.
Once it is published, there is a three-month deadline for the collection to start. Given this, the decision was made to start on July 1st and thus charging half of the year in 2017.
The debtors will have the possibility to pay the corresponding amount without surcharges, due to the decision of amnesty for three months. It is only necessary to define if that time runs from the publication date of the law or if it begins from July 1st.
This tax will be used to hire 1,500 police officers.
