Colombians in Costa Rica said ‘No’ to the peace deal

According to data provided by the National Civil Registry of Colombia, the institution in charge of the official record, Colombians in Costa Rica overwhelmingly voted ‘No’.

According to information from the entity, ‘No’ supporters amounted to 50.2% (832 votes), while ‘Yes’ supporters amounted to 49.8% (825 votes).

Abstention in Costa Rica reached 78.43%: 1,661 people, out of 7,700 registered citizens, voted. The consulate of Costa Rica hosted 18 polling stations.

The other countries in which Colombians chose ‘No’ were the United States, Panama, Paraguay and the United Arab Emirates.

If all foreigner votes are recorded, ‘Yes’ supporters won by 54%.
