Residents of the communities of in San Francisco Carrillo are upset due to a water leak that has left them with low water pressure and rationing since October of 2013. Residents are also upset with the national water company (AyA) because it has billed customers for water usage caused by the leak. One resident reported a monthly water bill of 23,882 colones ($47.76) despite having very little water flow in her home.
