Conflict after Panamanian sergeant crossed the border

A sergeant from the National Border Service of Panama crossed the border without authorization and was arrested by force by officers of the Public Force in Paso Canoas.

The subject’s name is Guevara and, apparently, he was close to a Costa Rican business.

The case was confirmed by the authorities of the Public Force. “This is not the institutional line. We have a close relationship with the Panamanian authorities. The case is an isolated incident and the corresponding reports were requested,” said the Ministry of Security spokesman, Carlos Hidalgo.

The sergeant returned to Panamanian territory after the incident and the authorities of the neighboring country will take care of the case.
