Coopetico taxi cooperative announced a huge investment of 1,100 million colones for the construction of a new building.

This company has been in the market for 50 years and it started a strengthening process, which involves new facilities, along with the acquisition of new equipment with state-of-the-art technology. Its goal is to offer the best possible service to users, who every day are more demanding and and request a quality service.

Inside the new building there will be a wide track for the sale of fuel, which will include two locations, in which 12 vehicles of liquid fuel and 4 of gas will be able to be attended simultaneously.

In addition, looking for new alternatives to collaborate with the environment and with everyone who want to reduce pollution, two electrostations or chargers for electric vehicles will be built.

75% of the Coopetico fleet currently uses gasoline, while the remaining 25% is mobilized with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

All these improvements would be completed by  mid 2018. The new drivers will go through different selection processes and will receive training in customer service, computing and English.

The announcement of the cooperative comes at a time when alternative transportation, such as Uber, have become the population’s favorites.
