The Government of Costa Rica condemns the bombing of Syria by the United States, France and Great Britain. It also opposed the regime of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad, who attacked with chemical weapons on April 7th.
Costa Rica condemns the attacks (all) and believe the Security Council is the one that must assume its responsibilities before the international community to maintain international peace and security,”
the Foreign Ministry informed the media.
On Saturday morning, the government opposed and demanded responsibility for the chemical attack perpetrated by the regime of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad. This attack was the reason why the group of three countries bombed during the headquarters of the chemical weapons program in Syria.
The position of the Costa Rican government is against any attack and in favor of the Security Council of the United Nations acting to achieve consensus and prevent an escalating conflict.
The internal conflict in Syria has left more than 350,000 deaths and millions of displaced people and refugees. It began in March 2011 with the repression of a sector of the population, but evolved into a complex conflict, with the involvement of jihadist groups and regional and international powers.
