Foreign Minister Manuel González officially inaugurated the Costa Rican Embassy in Indonesia on Wednesday, in the middle of his tour on the Asian continent.

The new embassy has been in operation since July and was part of a strategy to increase cooperation and trade with this country and also with the rest of South East Asia.

I want the friendship ties between Costa Rica and Indonesia to be strong and that cooperation in education and management of renewable energies be more intense from now on,”

said González.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Fachir, participated in the ceremony, as well as the Ambassadors of 11 Latin American countries that have diplomatic headquarters in that country.

Costa Rica and Indonesia have 32 years of commercial relations.

González used his visit to that country to analyze possibilities of investment and commercial exchange with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), which groups more than one million Indonesian companies.
