Costa Rica marked its presence at the International Tourism Fair

To complement the strategy for the consolidation of Costa Rica’s positioning in tourism, the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) participated in the IBTM World Barcelona from November 27th to 29th. This is considered the leading trade fair for meetings, incentives, conferences, events (MICE) and business trips, since it facilitates direct contact between specialized companies and international buyers.

The event aims to establish strategic connections to be part of this competitive business and show their new trends. One of the most significant approaches of this edition is the presentation of the macro trends of MICE tourism, progress in technology, and the dynamism of the industry’s growth.

The activity brings together 3,000 global exhibitors and 15,500 industry professionals, who have numerous business opportunities, in addition to various specialized work sessions that contribute to increasing knowledge of this segment and encourages networking. IBTM World is considered the main meeting point for decision makers in this segment of tourism.

For Juan Carlos Borbón, Marketing Director of the ICT,

the participation in this edition of the IBTM constitutes a valuable opportunity to strengthen our strategy and show the world that Costa Rica represents a destination with high potential for the MICE industry, as it has excellent air connectivity, strategic location, high level services, among other elements.”
