The fifth edition of the “Costa Rica Piano Festival” will take place from July 16th to July 21st. This event that brings together a group of pianists who promise to delight the audience with their performances and to train young national and foreign musicians.
The main venue will be at the School of Musical Arts of the University of Costa Rica and concerts will be held in auditoriums such as the National Theater, the Eugene O’Neill Theater, and the rooms of the Costa Rica Tennis Club and the Municipal School of Integrated Arts, in Santa Ana, according to Lanzo Luconi, founder and executive director of the event.
This year, four outstanding guest artists will participate in the event:
-Sergey Kuznetsov, who went to the famous Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and is now the founder and partner of Bakitone International, an agency that promotes the most important classical music competitions in the world.
-Sean Kennard, outstanding musician from California, United States, who is only 33 years old and worked with Boris Berman and joined the piano faculty of Stetson University the previous year.
-Vladimir Khomyakov whose trajectory leads him to give more than fifty recitals a year as a concert pianist, conductor, chamber musician, and soloist.
-Nahre Sol, pianist and composer, creator of music that combines improvisation, traditional western harmony, jazz, and minimalism. She has given concerts in the United States and Europe and has a Youtube channel with more than 10 thousand followers.
