Costa Rica seeks to position itself as a tourist destination to visit throughout the year and for this it showed its biodiversity, cultural wealth, ecotourism and beaches in Chile and Argentina on October 9th and 10th when a delegation of entrepreneurs headed by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) and the Proimagen Association were on tour in those two countries.
The Costa Rican tourist delegation was on a promotional and business tour with travel agents and wholesalers in the capitals Buenos Aires and Santiago, which are two of the largest markets in South America.
We undertake this tour with great optimism and certainty that Costa Rica’s tourism product will attract the attention of South Americans, knowing that Argentines and Chileans have a lot of interest in knowing the world’s prestigious biodiversity and enjoying new cultural and gastronomic experiences,”
Said Silvia Vargas, President of the association.
In the last 10 years the arrivals of Argentines went from 19,522 to 40,832; equivalent to a growth of 110%, while Chileans went from 7,682 to 18,297; showing a growth of 138% between 2008 and 2018, according to ICT studies.
