In May, Costa Rica will receive a delegation from various countries whose purpose is to exchange positions regarding the crisis in Venezuela.
The International Contact Group is made up of 12 countries of the European Union and Latin America, and its purpose is to carry out debates in different nations, to find a position to facilitate a settlement, given the problems that persist in Venezuelan soil.
For our country, it is important to find a peaceful and democratic solution to the crisis in Venezuela, where the Venezuelans themselves determine their future through democratic elections and international guarantees, which is why they welcome the GIC’s willingness to assist in the future to an electoral process that leads to free, inclusive, credible and transparent elections,”
said the Foreign Ministry in a statement.
Foreign Minister Manuel Ventura participated in the most recent meeting held in Ecuador, where, once again, he said that Costa Rica supports mechanisms for peaceful settlement.
