Costa Rican biodiversity stands out in global nature forum

Costa Rica is presented to the world as a “living laboratory” at the first ever Earth Optimism Summit in the United States.

The Fundecor Foundation is the country’s representative in the congress, which has more than 1,200 scientific and environmental leaders from around the world.

Costa Rica will be part of the “Benefits of Nature” forum, which deals with biodiversity-based livelihoods and how value has been generated from natural resource management.

We set out to project to the global audience that Costa Rica is a living laboratory for the world, where they constantly develop, validate and generate solutions, measurable knowledge, immediate value and direct impact in many other countries that have tropical forest,”

explained Felipe Carazo, director of the entity.

Carazo said that Costa Rica is a global example for all those countries that are struggling to make nature management efforts positively reflect their level of development.

The summit was held until April 23rd.
