Costa Rican entrepreneurs rush to face the presidential elections of 2018 and try to find the candidate who suits their interests the best.
In addition, candidates do not miss the opportunity to try to convince them with their proposals.
The truth is that the entrepreneurs will be able to choose from a range of options, since the differences between the candidates can already be noticed, even within the same political party.
On the afternoon of February 23rd, the Costa Rican Union of Chambers and Associations of the Private Business Sector (UCCAEP) organized a debate in which 7 presidential candidates, 4 from the Partido de Liberación Nacional (PLN) and 3 from Partido Social Cristiana (PUSC) presented their main ideas.
It gives us a pretty general idea of the candidates’ position … We are not defining who won or who we will support,
said Franco Arturo Pacheco, president of UCCAEP.
Enrique Egloff, president of the Chamber of Industries of Costa Rica (CICR), commented that although the meeting was profitable, they hope that the candidates gives them more detail and content of their proposal because the lags of competitiveness must be assisted.
