Costa Rican gastronomy to reach Galicia in Spain

The Costa Rican gastronomy will arrive to Galicia in Spain for the 2017 Xantar fair that will be held from February 1st to February 5th.

Culinary demonstrations and conferences on Costa Rican Sustainable and Healthy Gastronomy will be part of the activities.

Costa Rica was invited in 2015. In 2017 it will be one of the exponents, along with Spain, Portugal and Panama. The fair receives about 22 thousand people each year.

Alejandro Madrigal, Executive Director of the Chamber of Restaurants and Executive Coordinator of the National Plan for Sustainable and Healthy Costa Rican Gastronomy, explained that the event presents Costa Rica as a gastronomic power.

We are proud of our gastronomy, we have a privileged country due to its products and human resources, which we used to develop our own and differentiated gastronomy, with differentiating elements that include sustainability and health,”

said Madrigal.

The technical representation will be led by Chef Santiago Fernández Benedetto, who has extensive experience thanks to its incursion in some of the best cuisines of Spain, Dubai and Australia.

I want to share a little of what our beautiful country has to offer, we live in a small place loaded with incredible gastronomic opportunities and have the chance to offer a sustainable and healthy Costa Rican gastronomy,”

said Fernández.

In addition to the conference in which the country will participate, there will also be a cooking show:

Costa Rica Pre-colombina: presented by Chef Pablo Cabrera Navarro
Nuestro “Bistec” Encebollado: presented by Chef Santiago Fernández Benedetto
Esferas de Osa (world’s heritage): presented by Chef Santiago Fernández Benedetto.
