Ronald Jiménez, president of the Unión Costarricense de Cámaras y Asociaciones de la Empresa Privada (Uccaep) stated that the biggest differences between what President Luis Solís says, and what Costa Rican people think is that there are many ambiguities between the macroeconomic results and what the working men go through at a supermarket or while paying public services.
He added that even though there is zero inflation and the economic growth rate is good -the country’s economy is expected to grow 4% this year-, much of it has to do with the decline in oil prices and other raw materials and not with governmental actions.
