Costa Ricans still think Solís’ administration is “poor” and “very poor”

Most Costa Ricans maintain their position: the management of the current government is “poor” and “very poor”.

This was revealed by the latest Public Opinion Survey conducted by the Center for Research and Policy Studies (CIEP) at the University of Costa Rica.

Most opinions leaned toward the “poor performance” (32.4%) and “very poor performance” (25.2%) options, when asked how good is the management of the government under the administration of Luis Guillermo Solís.

22.9% of respondents said that management was “regular”, 15.9% said it was “good” and 1.6% said it was “very good”. The remaining percentage did not know or did not respond.

However, we can see that during 2016 there was a decrease in negative opinions, but we saw no increase in positive opinions regarding the Government,”

stated the report revealed on Wednesday afternoon.

These results do not include the work of the government during the emergency of Hurricane Otto, which hit the country in late November.

The survey, which included questions on political and social issues, was applied to 774 people around the country via telephone.
