Court approves Trump’s decree to ban six nationalities in the U.S.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court of the United States validated the decree of President Donald Trump that puts obstacles for the entry of citizens of six countries and specific officials from Venezuela, in a clear victory for the White House.

With five votes to four, the court approved the latest version of the decree, which affects the entry of citizens of five countries, mostly Muslim (Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen), as well as North Korea, and also some specific officials from Venezuela.

The Trump government believes this is a necessary measure in the face of concerns for national security. The approved version of the decree applies to some 150 million people.
