Costa Rica’s ambassador to China, Ricardo Javier León Pérez, will be working his last days as a diplomatic representative.
The press found out that chancellor Manuel González is ready to remove him from the position after the sum of non-compliances during his management.
León is on the list of the 8 ambassadors with the worst ratings, according to a report from the Foreign Service Directorate, which assessed performance at diplomatic sites during 2015.
The failure would have been maintained for another year, but León received the maximum sanction now.
Each diplomat must, as part of his or her functions, render a fortnightly report of the political events of the country he represents. And two others about their proposals to work and their fulfillment in a semiannual and annual term.
This is one of the aspects in which the ambassador’s score was zero, since he didn’t submit any information.
The press interviewed the Chancellor, who refused to admit he will fire León, but he didn’t denied it either. He simply said that appointments and dismissals are administrative decisions with no other justification.
Recently, González has been questioned for omitting the serious faults by the people he appoints in the subsequent reports of dismissal.
