The crocodile behind the attack suffered by an American tourist on July 22nd in Tamarindo beach was captured and relocated on October 16th.
According to an official statement from the Association of Integral Development of Tamarindo, they were able to catch it with the collaboration of officials from Las Baulas National Marine Park.
The crocodile was identified as the cause of the incident last July 2nd. It was relocated in good conditions to a duly authorized wildlife management center,”
quoted the association in a statement released on Monday.
This information was released after several businesses announced a lawsuit against the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) before the Administrative Tribunal, since the reptile allegedly interfered in commercial and tourism activities.
The delay was due to the inability to locate the animal. According to the association, this was achieved after several meetings between multiple sectors.
