Three Panamanians who posed as agents of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to steal drugs from a Costa Rican national in Cuervito de La Cuesta de Corredores on August 17th, 2014, were sentenced to six years in prison for the crime of conspiracy to commit crimes related to drugs.
Apparently, these men used uniforms and kidnap a Costa Rican man in his home to steal a large amount of cocaine, reported the Panamanian newspaper Crítica.
During the police operation that was carried out at that time in the place, drugs and several firearms were confiscated.
Darisnel Delgado Guerra (28), Edgar Carrasco (43), and Ariel Sánchez Ríos (32) were convicted to six years in prison on Thursday afternoon in Panama, thanks to an agreement with the Chiriqui Drug Prosecutor’s Office, and for that reason the defense and the accused accepted their responsibility in this case. An additional ban to hold public office was also established for six years after serving the main sentence.
For this same case, three Panamanians remain imprisoned in Costa Rica. Oldemar Abrego was sentenced to 29 years in prison, and Joaquín Aragua and Cristian Miguel Samudio were sentenced to 27 years in prison each.
