Despite criticism, Ana Trejos will hold office in BANHVI

On Wednesday, the former deputy minister of housing, Ana Trejos, was ratified by the government to hold a position on the Board of Directors of the Housing Mortgage Bank (BANHVI), despite the fact that different parties and legislators denounced that Trejos does not meet the requirements to hold this position.

This was confirmed by Sergio Alfaro, Minister of the Presidency.

Last week, it was revealed that the Government made an “express” appointment to tranfer Trejos to the Bank.

The Executive can place three people on the Board of BANHVI, one of them is the deputy minister of Youth.

Nevertheless, and although Trejos never belonged to this ministry, the Government transferred her so that she could fulfill the requirement.

The Government wants to take advantage of a person who meets the legal requirements… We do not see any inconveniences in this appointment,”

said Alfaro.

Next Thursday, Ana Cristina Trejos, Sergio Alfaro and Ana Gabriel Zúñiga, must appear before the legislators, both for this appointment and for the millions of colones in incentives they did not deserve.
