Despite pending tasks, Solís wants to party to celebrate animal welfare law

In the middle of a difficult week for President Luis Guillermo Solís and his government, the hierarch can finally breathe a little due to the approval of the animal welfare law.

The celebration will be on the Paseo Colón this Sunday from 9 a.m., making it clear that the President wants to celebrate one of the greatest achievements of his administration, promised during his electoral campaign.

Live music, face paint, information stands and services, as well as other activities will find those who go to the activity, which seem to be many.

The project is undoubtedly important because a large number of civil and social organizations put pressure for its approval, but the celebration with great fanfare is due to a logic present in the last administrations that use the electoral year to exaggerate their accomplishments and favor themselves,”

said Daniel Calvo, a political analyst.

In addition, this project represents one of the promises made in the campaign, which at times had a complicated panorama in the face of the opposition of some legislators, such as Otto Guevara, as well as the decision of the Fourth Chamber to cancel the law on the grounds of unconstitutionality when presented by first time.

Costa Ricans celebrate the approval of the law, as demonstrated by the support on Facebook. There, the president asked to upload photos of pets.

Hundreds of people have done so, showing their joy at the step taken to punish animal abuse.

The activity on Sunday will start with a tour from Torre Mercedes to the Bank of Costa Rica.
