The tax plan being discussed in the Legislative Assembly completed its process in the Special Commission on the Fiscal Reform on Monday night, after the discussion of motions and the final approval of the minutes.
Now, the substitute text of the project to strengthen public finances will continue to be discussed in Congress.
Despite the indefinite strike that started on Monday, the progress of the project in Congress is imminent. However, the opposing groups say it will have a negative impact on the working class’ quality of life.
Nearly 900 motions were presented against the Project, which were reviewed by the Commision in August, with the tax on prívate education and basic basket products causing major controversy.
Welmer Ramos, from the ruling Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC) and president of the legislative forum, explained that this week, the plan will be in the legislative sessions to be discussed by 57 lawmakers, followed by two days to raise reiterative motions and six sessions to discuss them.
