According to the report of the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of the National University (Ovsicori-UNA), there was a strong earthquake at 4:26 p.m. on Tuesday. It had a magnitude of 4.3 and was located 13 kilometers north of Quepos, at a depth of 18 kilometers.

The preliminary report indicates that the movement was felt in nearby areas. Users in social networks reported that the quake was “strong” in Pavas, Belén de Heredia, Alajuelita, Tierra Blanca de Cartago and Santa Ana.

The National Seismological Network indicates that the quake had a magnitude of 4.5.
