Drug leaders in San Carlos monitored every movement of the OIJ

The main drug gang of Ciudad Quesada watched every movement of the judicial authorities in San Carlos.

Even the raids this Thursday in the North Zone, the operatives had to start outside the canton at 11:30 p.m. because the criminals did intelligence work, monitoring the investigations of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) carried out against them.

This was announced by Mauricio Boraschi, Deputy Prosecutor of Territorial Prosecutors of the Public Ministry, who explained that they were able to prove the existence of a “counterintelligence”.

It involves at least five organizations linked to a subject known as Gordo Gerson. Apparently, he was distributing drugs that were brought from Limón and he was leader of five criminal groups.

The official explained that the suspects even watched the judicial police during the holidays so they were aware of the investigations that were taking place.

The surveillance included follow-ups so several moves were made to mislead the suspects. The operations took 31 prosecutors, 18 judges and 11 public defenders to be carried out successfully.
