So far, Easter has recorded 36 deaths, according to the report sent by the Costa Rican Red Cross. From April 8th until this Sunday, the rescuers have assisted more than 680 people.
The accidents on the road are responsible for most of the deceased: five for substances abuse, four for crashes and two more for vehicle overturns.
In addition, four people lost their lives in water accidents.
On this subject, the Red Cross has carried out 47 water rescues in the different beaches of the country.
Of the total of 680 people assisted by the Red Cross, the majority have been men (370), as well as 310 women. Almost 250 patients have been transferred to the medical centers, 87 of which were in delicate or serious condition.
The number of dead so far is less than the previous 2 years during this week. In 2015, 44 people died, while 39 died last year.
